A Child’s Learning Environment

Classroom Management and Learning

A classroom is considered as the second home of the students. Aside from their house, it is where they found another friends and a family. It is where they also learn and improve manners, in physical, emotional, intellectual and mental.

Aspect of Classroom Management

Specific Areas in the Classroom:
  •   Comfort Room

Has a complete sanitary with faucet and water. A clean and safe wash room for the students.

Their way of cleaning the wash room is everyday and the assigning of cleaners is by line in a row. The adviser is maintaining the cleanliness of their wash room. They require every student to clean it for their own clean and safe surroundings.
  •           Sink / Washing Area

Has a sponge and liquid dishwasher for washing the dishes. Hand soap and hand sanitizer for hand wash. Has a kitchen cabinet for dining utilities.
  •      Teacher’s Table

It is where the teacher do her/his paper works, and it is where the important and other documents of his/her students where hidden or placed.

Classroom Rules:

  •        Isuot ang under-shoes sa loob ng silid-aralan (Wear your under-shoes/cover shoes inside the room)
  •       Come to class prepared with all supplies and complete homework.
  •        Raise your hand to speak.
  •        Obey all school rules.
  •        Complete your work neatly on time.
  •         Use kind words and actions.
  •         Keep your classroom clean.
  •         Listen quietly when others are speaking.
  •         Play outdoors.

           Daily Routines:
  •          Arrival of the students and teacher.
  •          Attendance of the students.
  •         Opening Prayer.
  •          Greetings to the teacher and to classmates.
  •          Discussion of subjects.
  •          Taking their recess or break time.
  •          Discussion of subjects.
  •          Closing Prayer.
  •          Goodbye greetings to the teacher and classmates.

                   Seating Arrangement:

Girls and Boys is separated in a row. The row on the right is the seat for girls while the row on the left is the seat for boys.

On having this kind of seating arrangement, it lessens the trouble and arguments of the students because of not misunderstanding and not compatibility of students.

               Handling misbehavior/off-tasking behavior:

In the middle of discussion, we can’t avoid the students who’s not participating in the discussion like not listening to the teacher, sleeping in the middle of discussion, talking to seatmates and others.

In the recitation and performances, we can’t also avoid the students who’s not participating, not raising hands, not answering the teacher’s question or others.

In this kind of situation, the teacher have this strategies that can make a student participate in the class like choosing the quiet student on answering in recitation, calling the attention of students that are noisy and letting them answer a simple question.
