| *Mr. Dewey believed that the core curriculum should encompass the students' interests. *John Dewey approached education with a hands-on, cohesive philosophy, rather than teaching isolated topics which prevented learners from grasping the whole of knowledge. *Pragmatism is the philosophy of considering practical consequences or real effects to be vital components of both meaning and truth. *One important aspect is fallibilism *Fallibilism is the philosophical doctrine that all claims of knowledge could,in principle, be mistaken. Some fallibilists go futher, arguing that absolute certainly about knowledge is impossible. *Dewey did not consider himself a pragmatist, but rather referred to his philosophy as Instumentalism. *Instrumentalism:concepts and theories are measured as useful, not by whether they are true or false, but by explaining and predicting phenomena. *Students need to learn practical, pragmatic daily-life skills in order to build a better society. *Dewey wanted students to learn through experience and to think and reflect critically on their experiences. EXAMPLES: *Math could be learned by cooking, traveling, building things. *History could be learned by experiencing field trips, museums, replicas. *Reading can be learned through independently-selected literature. Current Day Evidence of this Theory *Vocational Technical School *Use of Scientific Method in classrooms *Kinesthetic Learning ( Role Playing, Non-Traditional learning techniques) *Integrating Technology into lessons |

| In my opinion as a Future educator I will choose the philosophy of John Dewey because in his theory he believed that human beings learn through a 'hands-on' approach that reality must be experienced because in reality, we only give attention to those things that is interesting for us. And I also believed that we learn through our different experiences. | |||||||||

A Child’s Learning Environment
Classroom
Management and Learning
A classroom is considered as the
second home of the students. Aside from their house, it is where they found
another friends and a family. It is where they also learn and improve manners, in
physical, emotional, intellectual and mental.
Aspect of Classroom Management
Specific
Areas in the Classroom:
- Comfort Room
Has a complete sanitary with faucet
and water. A clean and safe wash room for the students.
Their way of cleaning the wash room
is everyday and the assigning of cleaners is by line in a row. The adviser is
maintaining the cleanliness of their wash room. They require every student to
clean it for their own clean and safe surroundings.
- Sink / Washing Area
Has a sponge and liquid dishwasher
for washing the dishes. Hand soap and hand sanitizer for hand wash. Has a
kitchen cabinet for dining utilities.
- Teacher’s Table
It is where the teacher do her/his
paper works, and it is where the important and other documents of his/her students
where hidden or placed.
Classroom Rules:
Classroom Rules:
- Isuot ang under-shoes sa loob ng silid-aralan (Wear your under-shoes/cover shoes inside the room)
- Come to class prepared with all supplies and complete homework.
- Raise your hand to speak.
- Obey all school rules.
- Complete your work neatly on time.
- Use kind words and actions.
- Keep your classroom clean.
- Listen quietly when others are speaking.
- Play outdoors.
Daily
Routines:
- Arrival of the students and teacher.
- Attendance of the students.
- Opening Prayer.
- Greetings to the teacher and to classmates.
- Discussion of subjects.
- Taking their recess or break time.
- Discussion of subjects.
- Closing Prayer.
- Goodbye greetings to the teacher and classmates.
Seating
Arrangement:
Girls and Boys is separated in a row. The row on the right is
the seat for girls while the row on the left is the seat for boys.
On having this kind of seating arrangement, it lessens the
trouble and arguments of the students because of not misunderstanding and not
compatibility of students.
Handling misbehavior/off-tasking
behavior:
In the
middle of discussion, we can’t avoid the students who’s not participating in
the discussion like not listening to the teacher, sleeping in the middle of
discussion, talking to seatmates and others.
In the recitation and performances,
we can’t also avoid the students who’s not participating, not raising hands,
not answering the teacher’s question or others.
In this kind of situation, the
teacher have this strategies that can make a student participate in the class
like choosing the quiet student on answering in recitation, calling the
attention of students that are noisy and letting them answer a simple question.
